Boaters’ Guide: Judith Landing to James Kipp Recreation Area Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument

This Boaters’ Guide contains safety tips, up-to-date maps, camping and hiking suggestions, and interpretive information. This guide also includes 15 maps of the river with an accompanying discussion about each map. The information in this guide is organized by “river mile” and covers the river section from Judith Landing (river mile 88.5) to James Kill Recreation Area (river mile 149). This section of the river is often referred to to as the “Missouri Breaks” due to the appearance of the stark rugged badlands.
