Cottonwood Restoration Project

This map tells the story of our Cottonwood Restoration Project. Every year, planting and watering cottonwood saplings dominates our field season (May-October) as we work to restore the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument’s cottonwood galleries. Explore the various planting sites we have established since the project began in 2013; we hope that this map will enhance your own journey through the monument. All photos included in this map were provided by FMB staff.
